	Marie-Claude Chappuis Mezzo-soprano Marie-Claude Chappuis a créé le "Festival du Lied" en 2001 avec sa mère, Thérèse Chappuis. Née à Fribourg, Marie-Claude Chappuis chante sur les scènes les plus prestigieuses d’Europe (Staatsoper de Berlin, Festival de Salzbourg, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Festival d’Aix en Provence, Opernhaus de Zürich, Theater an der Wien…). Sous la direction de Riccardo Muti, Giovanni Antonini, René Jacobs, Ricvcardo Chailly, Sir Roger Norrington ou Nikolaus Harnoncourt, elle ète le répertoire baroque, classique et romantique. Très demandée sur les scènes d’opéra, elle compte plus de 30 rôles dans son répertoire dont : Sesto, Idamante, Carmen, Charlotte, Ottavia, Lazuli ou Hänsel. Elle enregistre la partie d’alto de la Passion selon Saint Mathieu pour Decca avec Riccardo Chailly, elle est Annio dans la Clémence de Titus dirigée par René Jacobs (Harmonia Mundi / nomination aux Grammy Awards), elle enregistre La Brockes-Passion de Telemann (Prix du Midem 2009). Sur DVD (Arthaus), elle tient le rôle principal du film musical « Conversation à Rechlin » dans la mise en scène de François Dupeyron. Parmi de nombreux projets, citons : la Passion selon Saint Jean à l’église Saint Thomas de Leipzig ainsi que l’enregistrement du rôle de Don Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera) pour Harmonia Mundi. Marie-Claude Chappuis est aussi une interprète passionnée par le Lied et la mélodie française. En 2001, elle crée le « Festival du Lied » de Fribourg dont elle est la directrice artistique. 	Marie-Claude Chappuis Mezzosopran Die in Fribourg geborene Marie-Claude Chappuis singt regelmässig auf den renommiertesten Bühnen Europas, (u.a. Staatsoper Berlin, Salzburger Festspiele, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Festival d’Aix en Provence, Opernhaus Zürich, Theater an der Wien). Unter der Leitung von Riccardo Muti, Giovanni Antonini, René Jacobs, Riccardo Chailly, Sir Roger Norrington oder Nikolaus Harnoncourt interpretiert sie das Barock-, Klassik- und Romantik-Repertoire. Chappuis ist auf den Opernbühnen sehr gefragt und zählt mehr als dreissig Rollen zu ihrem Repertoire, so unter anderem Sesto, Idamante, Carmen, Charlotte, Ottavia, Lazuli oder Hänsel. Zu ihren Aufnahmen zählen die Altpartie der Matthäus-Passion unter der Leitung von Riccardo Chailly für das Label Decca, Annio in „La Clemenza di Tito“ unter der Leitung von René Jacobs (Harmonia Mundi / Grammy-Nomination) und die Brockes-Passion von Telemann (Prix du Midem 2009). Auf DVD (Arthaus) spielt sie die Hauptrolle im Musik-Film „Conversations à Rechlin“ unter der Regie von François Dupeyron. Zu ihren aktuellen Projekten gehören unter anderem die Aufnahme der Rolle von Don Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera) für Harmonia Mundi sowie die Rolle der Dorabella in Così fan tutte am Opernhaus Zürich. Marie-Claude Chappuis ist zudem eine leidenschaftliche Interpretin des Liedes und der „mélodie française“. Im Jahre 2001 gründete sie das „Festival du Lied“ in Freiburg (Schweiz), dessen künstlerische Leiterin sie ist. 	Marie-Claude Chappuis Mezzo-Soprano Born in Fribourg in Switzerland, Marie-Claude Chappuis studied singing at the conservatoire of her native city and then at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Breda Zakotnik, obtaining a distinction in her concert diploma. She went on to sing at the Landestheater, Innsbruck, under the artistic direction of Brigitte Fassbaender, where her roles included Carmen, Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Charlotte (Werther), Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) and Armindo (Handel’s Partenope). With René Jacobs, she sang both Messaggiera and Proserpina in Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea, the Monteverdi Vespers as well as many other concerts and recordings including Annio under Jacobs in the Grammy-nominated La Clemenza di Tito. At the Grand Théatre de Genève, she sang Anna in Les Troyens by Berlioz, Penelope in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria as well as Ottavia (Poppea) and Annio (Clemenza). At the Zürich Opera, she sang Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito with Adam Fischer as well as Lazuli in performances of Chabrier’s L’Etoile conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner Marie-Claude sings regularly with Riccardo Chailly, René Jacobs, John Nelson and Giovanni Antonini at many prestigious venues including the Berliner Philharmonie and Berlin State Opera, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Aix-en-Provence Festival. Numerous upcoming projects include Paisiello’s Il Matrimonio inaspettato with Riccardo Muti at Salzburg, Ravenna and Piacenza, Idamante in Idomeneo with Nicolaus Harnoncourt at the Styriarte Festival in Graz, Bach’s B-minor Mass with Sir Roger Norrington and Ton Koopman, Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor at the Salzburg Festival of 2008 as well as Bach’s St Matthew Passion with Riccardo Chailly in Leipzig and at the Barbican Hall in London. look upon to performances
